2026 Discounted Gorilla Trekking Permits in Rwanda

As per the current promotional rates, Rwandans & East African citizens (East African Community –EAC) shall secure their Rwanda gorilla permits at US Dollars 200 per person. The Rwandan and East African citizens shall be required to present a valid National Identity Card, Birth Certificate, or a valid passport.

The African visitors & African residents shall obtain permits for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park at US Dollars 500. To obtain a permit under this category require a valid passport, diplomatic card/visa, and resident ID. The visa should be valid for at least 4 consecutive months.

The international visitors/tourists still obtain gorilla permits at US Dollars 1500 per person.

Please note that the Rwanda discounted gorilla permits do not apply for the months between June and October. This means the standard rate (US Dollars 1500) applies for you to book the valid gorilla permits from June to October.

Discounted gorilla permits can be obtained anytime during the off-peak months from January, February, March, April to May, or November, December 2026.
